Postgame Pulse: Wisconsin women's hockey vs Minnesota State
Hear what Wisconsin women's hockey head coach Mark Johnson, and a standout duo of Wisconsin Badgers forwards, said after the 4-0 win
A rejiggered Wisconsin women’s hockey top line put together a four-point performance (or three if nits are to be picked, with one assist coming on the power play) in a 4-0 shutout victory over the Minnesota State Mavericks. One of the line’s mainstays, and its newest addition, joined Wisconsin Badgers head coach Mark Johnson in addressing the media after the game.
Following injuries to All-American UW standouts Laila Edwards and Kirsten Simms, Johnson went to the drawing board. There, he found a combination of like-minded hockey players, ready to contribute. Although forward Claire Enright did not have a goal to her name before Saturday’s series-opener against MSU, she left with a highlight reel and the emphatic respect of her linemates and coach.
Hear from Johnson, center Adéla Šapovalivová, and winger Claire Enright had to say following a win that lifted Wisconsin women’s hockey’s record to an undefeated 9-0-0 overall and 5-0-0 in WCHA play.
The Wisconsin Badgers resume play in the series finale against Minnesota State on Sunday, October 26th, at 2:00 p.m. Central inside the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s LaBahn Arena.
