After having its frontcourt depth tested in the season opener, Wisconsin Badgers men’s basketball may still be facing a personnel shortage for a bit longer as one of its expected contributors deals with an injury suffered late in the preseason. The absence was part of the reason head coach Greg Gard’s rotation got “out of whack” against the Denver Pioneers.
Ahead of Wisconsin’s final matchup of its exhibition slate against the Oklahoma State Cowboys, the Badgers (1-0-0, 0-0-0 Big Ten) announced Will Garlock would not play in the contest. After suffering an injury in practice, UW said he is “considered day-to-day.”
Garlock did not participate in pre-game warmups before Monday night’s regular-season debut of the 129th season of Wisconsin men’s basketball. Before tip off, UW again ruled him out, repeating that he “is considered day-to-day.”
Following Wisconsin’s 20th-consecutive non-conference home victory, a mark tied or the longest-active streak in the Big Ten, Gard provided a brief update on the sophomore.
