Despite his wealth of resources, Greg Gard finds himself in the same dilemma as most folks across the state of Wisconsin this week. As Game 1 nears, the Wisconsin Badgers men’s basketball head coach has struggled to weigh the significant cost of World Series tickets over the opportunity to witness the Milwaukee Brewers play in the Fall Classic for the first time since his childhood.

Gard was torn on Wednesday when asked about his plans to watch Friday night’s series-opener against the Tampa Bay Rays saying he “will be watching it, but not in person,” before adding that he is “kicking himself” over the decision of whether or not to attend.

“You know, I was 11-years-old the last time they went in ‘82,” the Cobb, Wisconsin native said. “I probably should just break down, just go spend a lot of money and buy a ticket.”
